The aim of PExpo https://www.pexpoireland.com/is to promote promote the knowledge and understanding of sports, fitness and health related topics among young people.A record 185 projects involving over 500 students from some fifty secondary schools will be on show at the PExpo ’18 taking place at DCU on Wednesday March 6 (10am-2pm).
Projects range under seven headings, with the Nutrition category attracting the biggest numbers this year followed closely by the Components of Fitness category and the Well Being (physical, mental and social) category. There are also a number of projects in the Sports Psychology section.
Judges this year include Irish international athletes Jessie Barr and Brendan Boyce, as well as Laura Hickey from the Irish Heart Foundation, Anthony White, schools administrator Athletics Ireland, Andrei Molnar, the Irish men’s volleyball coach, and 2016 PExpo winner Conor Cantwell. They also include IPPEA committee members Susan Marron DCU, Missy Parker UL and IPPEA member Frances Murphy DCU.
This year we are delighted to welcome some Irish Primary PE Association representative pilot projects from three primary schools on the theme ‘What we learn in physical education lessons’.
