IPPEA Learning Community on Inclusion Post Webinar 1/10/2025 Report:

Thank you to Tralee Education Support Centre for hosting the recent IPPEA Learning Community on Inclusion webinar on Wednesday 1st Oct 2025 that was presented by Susan Marron from the IPPEA committee. Susan is a lecturer in Physical Education at the Institute of Education, Dublin City University. The webinar title was Inclusion and Wellbeing in Physical Education with a focus on Movement Competence.

An impressive 62 participants attended online. Thank you.

From a poll taken at the webinar opening, most participants were from the mainstream setting rather than special schools.

Thank you to the 27 participants who completed the evaluation forms. The feedback provided very valuable information into what was useful and what one would like more of.
Some feedback reported included:

A wealth of resources to support wellbeing in physical education

Ways to include children with special needs into your PE lessons so they feel involved and
can participate at their own level.

Some really good ideas for the PE hall, loved the idea of hanging shuttles for the kids off
the basket hoops.

Very good pointers in how to make PE lessons inclusive for all learners in the class

Further webinars related to PE for children with Autism and the support of the SNA was a flavour of what the participants would like more of.

Please keep an eye on the IPPEA website for further IPPEA events.
