Title of workshop: Frisbee Golf! Focusing on Fun Frisbee Flight

Workshop blurb:

This workshop focusing on how to teach children some key Frisbee skills, the exploration of those skills through fun interactive games, followed by a 9 hole Frisbee gold experience. The Frisbee Golf game aligns with the games & outdoor and adventure strand while also allowing for integration with the Geography Curriculum through map reading and following directions.

This bilingual session will explore children’s fundamental movement skills (FMS) and the importance of developing these skills at a young age. Assessment for learning (AfL), as a teaching and learning approach in developing children’s FMS, will be investigated with particular emphasis on féinmheasúnú agus piarmheasúnú. Bígí linn!

This workshop will focus on providing teachers with practical and playful ideas for The Daily Mile to promote enjoyable and engaging experiences for all children when running the initiative with their class. Central to the workshop is the incorporation of the child’s voice into The Daily Mile.

Our Oodles of Noodles For Everyone is a practical workshop with lots of different PE and Physical Activities and games that can be done using pool noodles across all of the PE curriculum strands. Pool noodles can also provide a huge range of creative and unique activities that can used to develop FMS and can also be easily adapted to allow for differentiation for all students. Pool noodles are a practical, playful and fun way to add a different dimension to your PE lessons and physical activities.

This resource has been developed to support schools in adopting an inclusive approach to Physical Education and the development of Fundamental Movement Skills. This workshop will explore strategies and modifications that can be adopted to ensure activities are meaningfully inclusive of children of all abilities.

Workshop blurb: The workshop will attempt to give participants a hands (and feet) on experience of some of the simple activities I use again and again to help children create dances. We will use as many as possible in the hour and try to combine them into one dance piece, with hopefully a laugh or two along the way.

This workshop will promote numerous fun activities for any sports day, concentrating on how to use minimal equipment to get the maximum fun on a Sports Day. It will also give strategies on how to ensure there is fair play and sportsmanship when having a Sports Day.

Within this practical workshop, participants will partake in a range of activities using strategies to make PE more democratic (voice and choice) and to personalise PE (goal setting and reflection). The strategies shared are ones which Grace has used successfully with her own class and will be useful for all age groups.

Breathing New Life into the Oldest Most Traditional Team Challenge. Our Tug of War workshop demonstrates the many advantages that our sport has to offer with special focus on it being an all-inclusive sport for all abilities. Listening and responding to children’s voices in physical education empowers children to make decisions that influence what and how they learn. Participants will engage in teacher-tested practical activities illustrating how to promote a) voice, b) choice, c) self-direction, and 4) co-construction of activities. VOICE-PE is an Irish Research Council funded collaboration with IPPEA.
